Bee-rilliant!
As part of 'Gardening Week' Year 4-7 were treated to a wonderful 'bee" afternoon on Friday 13th May. Sam Laverty, a local bee keeper, came to school to share his wonderful knowledge about bees with us. We found out just how important bees are (did you know they contribute towards the production of every third bite of food we put in our mouths?) and what we can do to help look after them. We also learned about the roles of different bees in the hive and even saw some real life bees working to make honey!
We all left 'buzzing' about bees! Thank you to Sam Laverty for taking the time to come and talk to us.
