This week our learning was based around the wonderful story “Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?” 🐻🎶
The children absolutely loved performing some actions — especially when Mrs. Allen joined in with her guitar! 🎸 We were so impressed with how well everyone remembered which animal was coming next — fantastic story comprehension skills developing! 👏
🎵 We also had fun singing Twinkle Twinkle and learning some Makaton signs to go with it. The children even learnt Makaton for animals such as squirrel, badger, rat, deer and mouse — amazing communication and memory skills on show! 🐿️🦡🐭
In play, we explored building with Duplo — creating animal houses and super high towers! 🧱 Great teamwork, problem-solving, and fine motor skills all around! 💪
At our independent workstation area, the children showed brilliant focus and growing independence while completing their tasks — what superstars! 🌟
Over at the teaching table, we focused on number recognition, counting and understanding quantity — our mathematicians are really shining! 🔢✨
In creative time, we made our very own bears 🧸, enjoyed matching games and explored size ordering — all linking beautifully to our story of the week.
We also explored our five senses, singing songs and learning to point to our ears, nose, mouth, hands, and eyes — what a sensory adventure! 👃👂👀🖐👄
