Let’s investigate!

16th Jan 2023

Our Reception children observed the heavy hail stones falling through the classroom window and started to make snow pictures..cold blue tones, mixed with whites, fake snow and cotton wool were all carefully selected. Outside they observed the ‘crunch’ sound that the hail stones made under their feet and the stillness and quietness in the air that snow brings. One child heard the church bells ring so clearly he gathered his friends to a height to get a clearer view of the church! Others found a stick and observed the marks they could make in the snow. Some even had a little taste-‘freezing ice!’ We noticed that it was difficult to make a snowball as the hailstones wouldn’t stick together. Perhaps tomorrow we will have more snow, a different kind of snow or will it all have melted?…Let’s wait and see what tomorrow brings.❄️⛄️
