💚Roots of Empathy💚

6th May 2025

How lovely to see Lucia growing so fast!🥰

Today in our Roots of Empathy lesson on communication, Primary One were amazed at how quickly Lucia is crawling now—and she already has six teeth! We’ve explored how babies express themselves, not just through sounds and gestures, but also through their needs. When tired, babies might rub their eyes, yawn, or become fussy. If they’re hungry, they might suck on their hands, smack their lips, or cry in a certain way. Lucia especially loves it when we sing songs or rhymes, and she had the biggest smiles for “If You’re Happy and You Know It, Clap Your Hands”! She was even joining in with us!

Learning to recognise these early signs of communication helps children develop empathy, as they start to understand and respond to emotions even before words are used. Another wonderful session with Lucia and her mummy.
