Pupils study geography, history and science subjects under the World Around Us area of learning. A topic approach of teaching ensures that pupils receive a broad and balanced experience through a variety of practical and outdoor activities. Science Week is a focal point of the year with visiting guest speakers, link-ups with local post-primary schools and family events.
Pupils visit places of interest in the local area which are linked to their class topics. Local experts and professionals also come into school to share their knowledge and to help pupils understand how their job is influenced by science, history or geography.
